Banquet Captain

About the role

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha is looking for a decisive Banquet Captain to lead its banquet operations. You will ensure exceptional service and memorable experiences for guests by overseeing every aspect of banquet events.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all banquet events from setup to execution.
• Lead, motivate, and assign tasks to banquet staff.
• Collaborate with clients, event planners, and internal departments.
• Manage inventory, equipment, and supplies for banquet operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hotel standards.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Conduct pre‑event briefings and post‑event debriefings.
• Monitor service, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
• Assist in training and developing banquet staff.
• Prepare reports on operations and guest feedback.

Required profile

• More than 2 years of banquet operations experience, including a Banquet Captain or similar role.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent customer‑service mindset and communication skills.
• Strong event‑management and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Exceptional time‑management and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred) and Food Safety Certification.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and industry trends.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lb.
