Barista – Breakfast Service (36th Floor)

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a skilled Barista to join its Food & Beverage team, focusing on breakfast service on the 36th floor. You will craft high‑quality coffee, tea and non‑alcoholic beverages while supporting the service team in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Explain the outlet’s concept and beverage menu to guests, highlighting drink characteristics.
• Prepare coffee, espresso, blended coffee, teas and other non‑alcoholic drinks to brand standards.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and report them to management.
• Set up the daily bar counter, manage inventory and ensure all ingredients and equipment are ready.
• Clean and sanitise the bar area after each shift and conduct periodic deep cleaning.
• Assist in creating new blended drinks for promotions and new menus.
• Perform cashiering duties when required.

Required profile

• High School qualification; a degree or HND in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Barista/Bartender in a high‑end setting and at least 2 years in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication; Arabic or other languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with restaurant point‑of‑sale (POS) and cashiering procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
