Beauty Buyer

About the role

A Beauty Buyer is sought to plan, forecast and purchase a commercially strong, customer-focused product assortment for a portfolio of prestige and luxury beauty brands, across online and offline retail channels. The role works closely with global brand partners and cross-functional teams to identify the right product mix and buying volumes that meet customer needs and support brand positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market trends, consumer preferences, sell-through and seasonal demand to build a buying practice aligned with consumer and store needs
• Plan the range, type, quality and quantity of merchandise, set prices and sell-through targets with the Division Merchandise Manager within budget
• Carry out purchasing in line with brand purchase plans and maintain profitable supplier relationships, monitoring contract terms
• Monitor store stock levels with the planning team and support promotions so products are available in time and in the right quantities
• Validate product selections for PR and marketing campaigns and keep abreast of competitor activity
• Negotiate supplier training and manage brand training of staff on new products and trends
• Review buying feedback and sales performance weekly, and prepare reports on turnover and trends to propose maintaining, liquidating or discontinuing products and lines
• Conduct regular store visits across markets to review brand performance and competitors
• Lead subordinates toward achieving goals and objectives

Required profile

• Proven track record in buying and retailing in the beauty industry, preferably multi-brand
• 5+ years of buying experience with a clear focus on beauty
• Experience in the luxury beauty segment
