Biomedical Engineer

About the role

The Biomedical Engineer will perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of medical equipment throughout the hospital and provide on‑call support for equipment emergencies. The role also includes managing insurance claims and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform skilled preventive maintenance on devices such as defibrillators, cardiac monitors, incubators, infusion pumps, audiometers, electrosurgical units, microscopes, spirometers, dental and anesthesia units.
• Provide on‑call support for medical equipment emergencies across all hospital facilities.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims, verify patient coverage, monitor claim status and respond to payer queries.
• Promote quality and safety by conducting evaluations, complying with infection‑control policies, and supporting clinical audits.
• Participate in education sessions, staff training, and departmental committees; maintain licensure, certification and mandatory training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, paramedical or related field.
• Knowledge of medical coding, billing processes and insurance claim management.
• Fluent spoken and written English; Arabic advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
