BMS Technician – Installation & Commissioning

About the role

As a BMS Technician at ALEC Technologies you will install, test and commission Building Management System (BMS) solutions for commercial and data‑center projects in the UAE. The role involves handling field devices, control panels and communication cabling while ensuring compliance with approved drawings, standards and sequences of operation.

Key responsibilities

• Install and terminate BMS field devices such as sensors, actuators and controllers according to approved drawings.
• Perform panel wiring, ferruling, cable glanding and basic control panel connections.
• Lay and route field communication cables, supporting proper installation of BMS controllers, I/O modules, control panels and network switches.
• Read and follow shop drawings, panel GA drawings and installation instructions.
• Conduct basic point‑to‑point testing for field devices and controllers, and support analog/digital I/O functionality checks.
• Identify basic faults in wiring, devices and communication issues.
• Adhere to project standards, safety rules and quality requirements during installation work.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and support daily installation and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in BMS installation and commissioning.
• Experience on commercial buildings or data‑center projects is preferred.

Required skills

• Installation and termination of BMS field devices.
• Panel wiring, ferruling and cable glanding.
• Network switch and I/O module installation.
• Point‑to‑point testing of field devices and controllers.
• Analog and digital I/O testing.
• Familiarity with major BMS platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric or Johnson Controls.
