Branch Compliance Officer & MLRO (Dubai)

About the role

Our client, a DFSA‑regulated leading reinsurance firm, is seeking a Branch Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer to join its Dubai office. The role will own the day‑to‑day compliance framework, ensure full adherence to the DFSA Rulebook and DIFC regulations, and manage AML policies, procedures and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Counsel and support the branch to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Implement DFSA Rulebook recommendations, guidance and directives.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting procedures to identify and address compliance breaches promptly.
• Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports in line with Federal AML legislation.
• Contribute to the creation, implementation and review of compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct thorough due‑diligence and identify potential compliance risks.
• Prepare and execute the annual branch compliance plan.
• Manage compliance inspections and audits.
• Train local employees on compliance matters relevant to the branch.
• Assist in responding to regulatory, auditor and external authority queries.
• Participate in designing and testing internal compliance frameworks and produce quarterly compliance reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure business operations adhere to compliance requirements.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in compliance within the reinsurance or insurance sector.
• Strong understanding of DFSA or FSRA regulation (or equivalent such as FCA).
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DFSA Rulebook and AML regulations.
