Building Management System Operator

About the role

The Building Management System (BMS) Operator ensures the effective operation and monitoring of the BMS, supporting building services, responding to alarms, and assisting maintenance activities. The role also tracks energy consumption, maintains accurate records, and coordinates with facility management teams to keep systems efficient, safe, and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and operate the BMS and connected building services.
• Respond promptly to system alarms, escalate and resolve faults.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance through system monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Prepare accurate reports, documentation, and maintain operational records.
• Coordinate with FM teams, helpdesk, vendors, and service providers.
• Assist with BMS upgrades, system integrations and device communication verification.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and operational procedures, supporting audits and inspections.
• Maintain control‑room operations, equipment housekeeping and system security.
• Support emergency response and other BMS‑related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience as a BMS Operator within Facility Management.
• Knowledge of BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, and Johnson Controls.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems and FM operations.
• Basic computer and reporting skills.
