Business Development Manager

About the role

The Manager Business Development supports Marine Services by providing management reporting, evaluating business risks, negotiating, and identifying new business opportunities. The role drives customer acquisition, contract wins, and revenue growth while coordinating short‑ and long‑term plans to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long‑ and short‑term strategic plans, performance reports and KPIs for Marine Services.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking and financial analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
• Build and manage a qualified opportunity pipeline, driving customer acquisition and contract wins.
• Coordinate tender responses, commercial proposals, pricing assumptions and management approvals.
• Track business growth targets, including new customers, tenders submitted, contracts awarded and revenue generated.
• Prepare financial forecasts, trend analyses and results reporting.
• Negotiate contractual terms, manage disputes, and maintain contract documentation.
• Draft policies and procedures aligned with international standards and applicable regulations.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Management, Maritime, Shipping, Engineering, Finance or related field.
• 10‑12 years of experience in business planning, contracts, tendering, commercial evaluation, financial analysis or marine operations support.
• Strong understanding of marine operations, risk management and contract administration.
• Proven ability to conduct benchmarking, market research, financial forecasting and management reporting.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Professional certification in Business Management, Contracts, Procurement, Finance, Risk Management or Marine disciplines is an advantage.
