C4RPWC Program WS5 Lead

About the role

The C4RPWC Program WS5 Lead will provide scientific, technical, and operational leadership for Workstream 5 (WS5) of the Consortium for Red Palm Weevil Control. Based in Ajman, UAE, the role coordinates research translation, innovation scaling, and stakeholder‑centered approaches to accelerate adoption of RPW management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall scientific and operational leadership for WS5.
• Lead planning, implementation, coordination, and delivery of all WS5 activities.
• Oversee the three WS5 work packages (Socio‑economics & Policy, Citizen Science, Pathways to Scaling).
• Ensure effective partner coordination, stakeholder engagement, and technical quality assurance.
• Monitor progress, prepare reports, and ensure timely delivery of outputs and outcomes.
• Serve as the primary focal point for WS5 across consortium partners.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead, Program Management Unit, national partners, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in agricultural science, entomology, environmental science, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading multi‑institutional research programs or workstreams.
• Strong background in pest management, especially Red Palm Weevil or similar agricultural pests.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate partners, engage stakeholders, and manage complex projects.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
