Cardiopulmonary Assistant

About the role

The Cardiopulmonary Assistant provides non‑clinical technical and clerical support to the Cardiopulmonary Department at American Hospital Dubai. This role ensures that equipment, supplies, and documentation are ready for patient care while adhering to hospital policies, JCIA standards, and DHA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, quality technical support for cardiopulmonary and respiratory services.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with Heart Saver procedures when required.
• Prepare, monitor, and calibrate medical equipment, ensuring compliance with JCIA and DHA safety standards.
• Disinfect and clean all cardiopulmonary equipment following infection‑control protocols.
• Report equipment issues and request repairs via the Service Requisition Software.
• Maintain daily and monthly inventories of equipment, accessories, and supplies, including expiration audits.
• Conduct monthly environmental rounds, report concerns through the Service Requisition Software, and follow up on resolutions.
• Manage the Supply Room, Patient Education Room, and Staff Lounge to ensure optimal organization.

Required profile

• Experience in technical support within a cardiopulmonary or respiratory care setting.
• Familiarity with hospital accreditation standards (JCIA, DHA).
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency situations.
• Strong attention to detail for equipment checks, calibration, and inventory management.
