Caregiver

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Caregiver to join NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi. Working under the direct supervision of registered nursing staff, you will provide safe and timely patient care, supporting daily living activities and assisting with clinical tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding) under nursing supervision.
• Perform manual handling tasks, including patient transfers and mobility, based on competency.
• Provide assistive care to tracheostomized patients as directed by a registered nurse.
• Support patient escort within the clinical setting and assist during therapy sessions.
• Engage in play activities with pediatric patients under guidance of nurses and therapists.
• Monitor and promptly report any changes in patients’ conditions to licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and ensure a safe environment.
• Stock patient rooms with supplies and maintain medical equipment.
• Assist patients and families with housekeeping, laundry, food preparation, and errands.
• Respond to emergency situations following established policies.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direct supervision of registered nursing staff.
• Competency in manual handling and patient transfer techniques.
• Capability to provide care for tracheostomized patients.
• Willingness to engage with pediatric patients in therapeutic activities.
• Strong observational skills to report patient condition changes.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team.
