Caregiver – Patient Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Caregiver to join Provita International Medical Center in Al Ain. Working under the direct supervision of registered nursing staff, you will deliver safe, timely patient care and support daily living activities for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care and services safely and promptly, following nursing guidance.
• Identify improvement opportunities and escalate them according to the chain of command.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding) under licensed supervision.
• Perform manual handling tasks such as patient transfers and mobility, based on competency.
• Deliver assistive care to tracheostomized patients under a registered nurse’s direction.
• Engage in play activities with pediatric patients when guided by nurses or therapists.
• Monitor and promptly report any changes in patients’ conditions to nursing staff.
• Support patients during physical, occupational, or speech therapy sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and ensure a safe recovery environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing emotional support and relaying information to staff.
• Stock patient rooms with supplies and ensure medical equipment is clean and maintained.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, food preparation, and errands as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established procedures.
• Contribute to performance and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Competence in manual handling and patient mobility.
• Experience or training in caring for tracheostomized patients.
• Comfort interacting with pediatric patients and supporting therapeutic activities.
• Strong observational skills to detect and report changes in patient condition.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
