CCS Field Service Engineer

About the role

The CCS Field Service Engineer will deliver on‑site testing, commissioning and maintenance of protection systems, including busbar protection, for GE Vernova projects in Abu Dhabi. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage project workloads and ensure high billable efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform test and commissioning (T&S) of protection and busbar protection systems, as well as M&D and other GA‑related projects.
• Plan and allocate resources for the Field Service commissioning team, targeting a 90%+ billable ratio.
• Support Operations with budgeting, profitability tracking, planning and reporting.
• Ensure customer agreements on documentation lead times, delivery, reliability and quality are met.
• Maintain EHS compliance, provide appropriate PPE, and manage engineering approvals for key accounts.
• Implement ServiceMax during project execution and handle engineering tasks such as protection relay configuration, panel modifications, schematics, IEC‑61850 mapping and cable schedules.
• Prepare and revise production documents, conduct CT/VT adequacy checks, and perform relay setting calculations.
• Coordinate with panel manufacturers, provide technical clarifications to suppliers/customers, and represent GE in technical workshops.
• Guide a small team of draftsmen and ensure timely delivery of design documents.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field service engineering for protection systems and busbar protection.
• Strong ability to plan resources, manage project workloads and achieve high billable ratios.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid understanding of EHS practices and ability to secure necessary approvals.
