CCTV Operator

About the role

Fairmont Ajman, a 5-star beachfront hotel in Ajman, is looking for a CCTV Operator to help maintain the safety and security of its guests, staff and premises. The role centres on vigilant monitoring of surveillance systems, with a focus on professionalism, confidentiality and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance systems across the hotel, including guest areas, back-of-house facilities, entrances, exits, parking areas and colleague accommodation where applicable.
• Identify suspicious activity, security breaches, safety hazards and unusual incidents and report them promptly to the Security Supervisor or Security Manager.
• Maintain continuous surveillance of designated areas to help prevent theft, unauthorized access and other security incidents.
• Monitor access control systems and report unauthorized entry or suspicious movement in restricted areas.
• Respond promptly to security alerts, alarms and requests for assistance, coordinating with the security team and other departments.
• Record, document and report incidents according to hotel security procedures, and review and retrieve CCTV footage for investigations or management requests, ensuring authorization.
• Maintain the confidentiality of surveillance footage, security records and other sensitive information.
• Ensure CCTV equipment, monitors, recording systems and related devices are functioning correctly, and report faults, blind spots and recording failures to the Security Supervisor and technical support.
• Maintain accurate logs of incidents, observations, system faults and shift handovers.
• Assist in investigations into security incidents, accidents, loss prevention and policy violations, and support emergency response during fire alarms, evacuations and medical emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, standard operating procedures and data protection and privacy requirements, attend briefings and training, and perform other reasonable duties assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in CCTV monitoring, security operations or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good command of spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Knowledge of security procedures, incident reporting and emergency response protocols.
• Relevant UAE security training or licensing where required by regulation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CCTV surveillance systems, video recording equipment and access control systems.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to operate security monitoring software.
