Central Controller (UAE National)

About the role

The Central Controller will support the CFO in overseeing financial management and controlling functions across Thales UAE operations. This position focuses on cash management, KPI monitoring, and audit preparation while contributing to finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor shared services KPIs, especially Paid on Time.
• Manage project cash flow, forecast cash‑in and cash‑out, and optimise operating cash flow with Operations.
• Lead intercompany ICV requirements and travel to Abu Dhabi as needed.
• Reduce DSO on intercompany accounts receivable.
• Oversee financial activities of UAE entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance, including monthly balance‑sheet reviews.
• Lead audit processes and prepare financial statements for all UAE entities.
• Implement and maintain internal controls, ensuring ICMA and ICQ compliance.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes.
• Participate in finance modernization initiatives, including SAP improvements.

Required profile

• Audit background is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines and exhibit high standards of conduct.
• Effective interpersonal, motivational and influencing skills.

Required skills

• Chartered Accountant / CPA qualification.
• Expert knowledge of IFRS.
• Proficiency with SAP financial modules.
• Experience in cash flow management and working‑capital optimisation.
