Chemistry Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Dubai Investments Park, Dubai, is hiring a Chemistry Teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The role centres on ensuring students' academic success by applying the SABIS curriculum and teaching methods, and supporting students to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, and develop them from pacing charts where needed, applying the SABIS point system
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials given by the department
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department
• Implement the SABIS Point System in the classroom
• Proctor exams and maintain a properly managed test environment
• Support, guide and motivate academically underperforming students
• Help prepare students for external exams through review of past papers, as planned in the revision schedule
• Assist with extra duties such as testing students, covering absent teachers, organising lunch and bus runs, crowd control and other administrative tasks
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and sports, with the Student Life Coordinator
• Attend training sessions and carry out other tasks delegated by school management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• English proficiency
• At least 1 year of teaching experience
• Ability to take ownership, act professionally and ethically, deliver results, learn continuously, work in a team, communicate, adapt to change, manage time and priorities
