Chief Accounting Support Specialist (Emirati)

About the role

A Dubai government entity is seeking a qualified Emirati accounting professional to act as Chief Accounting Support Specialist. The role contributes to developing and reviewing financial policies, accounting procedures and regulatory compliance frameworks, aligned with Dubai Government financial legislation and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Ensure financial practices comply with government legislation, regulations and approved standards.
• Interpret financial regulations and give technical input on accounting policies and procedures.
• Review financial reports and accounting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare financial analyses, reports and recommendations to support management decisions.
• Coordinate with departments on financial policy implementation and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor changes in financial legislation and recommend policy updates.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes, governance and efficiency, and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 9-10 years of experience in accounting, financial policies, financial regulations or compliance.
• Strong understanding of Dubai Government financial legislation, regulations and policies.
• Preferred: CPA, CMA or ACCA certification; previous Big Four audit firm experience (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) is an advantage.
• Emirati nationality only.
