Chief Instrumentation Engineer – Global EPC Project

About the role

Arkad SpA seeks a Chief Instrumentation Engineer to lead the engineering and site execution of a high‑profile oil & gas EPC project across Tunisia and Algeria. The role combines technical leadership in an engineering hub with hands‑on support during on‑site construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the instrumentation and control (I&C) team in Tunisia, coordinating with the client and ensuring technical assurance for all deliverables.
• Oversee the preparation and review of instrumentation specifications, datasheets, and procurement packages.
• Support the Site Technical Office in Algeria, handling construction work requisitions and participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with project standards and safety regulations throughout the engineering and execution phases.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of I&C engineering experience on EPC projects, preferably in oil & gas.
• Degree in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Fluent English; French highly preferred for operations in Tunisia and Algeria.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) including DCS, ESD and FGS.
• Proficiency with SCADA and telecommunications systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) software.
• Familiarity with ISA, IEC, IEEE and ATEX standards.
