Chief Steward

About the role

The Chief Steward leads the stewarding department at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, ensuring seamless support for all hotel operations. This senior position combines leadership, operational excellence, and a strong focus on hygiene, safety, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective stewarding systems and procedures to support hotel operations.
• Supervise all stewarding staff, facilities, daily operations, and associated costs.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain par stock levels, approve storeroom requisitions, and manage inventory.
• Ensure cleanliness of all facilities, equipment, and public areas.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and liaise with Engineering for timely repairs.
• Enforce health and safety standards, proper chemical storage, and use of safety equipment.
• Lead energy‑conservation and environmental initiatives across the hotel.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and team‑management experience in a hospitality setting.
• Strong communication, planning, problem‑solving and time‑management abilities.
• Physically fit, reliable, disciplined and customer‑service oriented.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Recognised food‑safety certifications and thorough knowledge of HACCP principles.

Required skills

• Food safety certification (e.g., HACCP).
• Cleaning, sanitisation and kitchen hygiene procedures.
• Safe operation, handling and basic maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Inventory control and stock management.
• Chemical handling and storage.
• Occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations.
