Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Consultant

About the role

The Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will lead the delivery of comprehensive, evidence‑based mental health services for children, adolescents and their families. This senior clinical position combines direct patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching, research and service development within a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans using pharmacological, psychological and family‑based interventions.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient and emergency psychiatric consultations, including crisis intervention and risk management.
• Supervise and mentor Specialists, Residents, Fellows and other junior medical staff, ensuring high‑quality care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with psychologists, therapists, social workers, nurses and pediatric specialists.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation in line with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to departmental planning, service development, recruitment and clinical governance activities.
• Participate in on‑call roster and after‑hours coverage as required.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry with extensive clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise junior staff.
• Commitment to patient‑centered, family‑focused care and continuous quality improvement.
• Active interest in teaching, research and service innovation.
