Cigar Sommelier

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Cigar Sommelier to join The Arts Club Dubai’s Cigar Lounge. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional cigar experience for members and guests while maintaining the Club’s high standards of service and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the cigar inventory, ensuring correct stock levels, proper storage conditions, pricing, and vintages.
• Provide expert cigar recommendations and pairings, delivering personalized service to members and guests.
• Keep humidors, displays, and service areas clean, organized, and in line with Club standards.
• Conduct regular stock takes and accurately record all cigar, food, and beverage sales.
• Stay up‑to‑date with cigars, wines, food offerings and Club services to advise guests effectively.
• Collaborate with the floor team to ensure seamless guest experiences and support private events.
• Train colleagues and share cigar knowledge to raise overall team expertise.
• Uphold health, safety, housekeeping and service standards while safeguarding Club assets.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in a similar role within luxury hotels or fine‑dining establishments.
• Internationally recognised professional certification in cigars or related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities with flexibility for long shifts.
• Impeccable manners, immaculate personal presentation and a well‑spoken demeanor.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all dealings.
