Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to work on infrastructure and utility projects across Dubai and the wider region. The role involves design, calculation, and coordination of dry utilities, power substations, telecom networks, and street lighting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop designs for dry utilities and infrastructure from concept masterplan through to IFC stage.
• Design primary substations, EHV/HV/LV corridors, distribution and pocket substations, feeder pillars, service turrets, and HV networks up to 33 kV.
• Perform electrical calculations, prepare reports, and produce lighting calculations, single line diagrams and load schedules.
• Design telecom infrastructure including ducts, manholes and GSM tower coverage requirements.
• Design street lighting for all road types, including ROW, landscape lighting and branch wiring.
• Coordinate with wet utilities, roads, transportation, landscape and building disciplines.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong understanding of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and KSA authority guidelines, standards and requirements.
• Extensive experience on infrastructure projects covering concept to detailed design stages.

Required skills

• Dry utilities and infrastructure design.
• Power substation and HV/LV network design.
• Electrical calculations and report writing.
• Telecommunication network design (ducts, manholes, GSM coverage).
• Street lighting design, lighting calculations and load scheduling.
• Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
