Civil Inspector (Buildings)

About the role

Bainona Engineering Consultancy is seeking a full‑time Civil Inspector (Buildings) to join its on‑site team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will carry out daily inspections of building works, ensuring strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes and standards while supporting quality‑control processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular civil and structural inspections in coordination with senior engineers.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, waterproofing, masonry and other civil activities against approved documents and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and support sampling/testing as required.
• Witness concrete pours, record test results and maintain accurate inspection records, photographs and daily observations.
• Identify defects, non‑conformities or unauthorized work and report them to senior engineers for timely resolution.
• Monitor site safety compliance during inspections and report unsafe conditions.
• Support snagging, de‑snagging and final hand‑over inspections.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a civil or building inspector on construction projects, preferably in consultancy or supervision.
• Proven ability to identify non‑compliant work, maintain detailed inspection records and communicate observations clearly.
