Civil Technician – Maintenance & Guest Services

About the role

Marriott International is seeking a Civil Technician to join its Engineering & Facilities team in Dubai. You will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of building systems and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
• Report daily activities and any issues to the next shift using approved communication standards.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, light‑bulb and A/C filter replacement, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, pneumatic/electronic systems, and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs and maintain sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, energy conservation and general building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, follow safety policies and report hazards.
• Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience (junior level).
