Clinical Nurse Lead

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Lead (Senior Registered Nurse – Mental Health) provides advanced nursing care and professional leadership within an inpatient or community mental health setting. You will ensure safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care that aligns with Department of Health standards while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, evidence‑based nursing care to mental health patients, including assessment, care planning, implementation and outcome evaluation.
• Supervise, mentor and provide day‑to‑day clinical leadership to nursing staff and healthcare aides.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated mental health services.
• Maintain compliance with DOH regulations, organizational policies and clinical governance requirements.
• Conduct mental health risk assessments, manage crisis situations and ensure timely escalation of care.
• Produce accurate, confidential clinical documentation in line with legal and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits and service development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid DOH nursing licence or eligibility letter.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in mental health or psychiatric care.
• At least 3 years of experience in a team‑lead or supervisory role.
