Clinical Preceptor

About the role

Dubai Medical University is looking for a Clinical Preceptor in Dubai to supervise pharmacy students during their clinical placements. The role combines direct clinical teaching, assessment of student progress and safeguarding of patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical supervision to students during placements
• Demonstrate and teach core clinical skills and professional conduct
• Facilitate student participation in ward rounds, clinics and case discussions
• Assess student performance using approved tools and give feedback
• Verify attendance, practice hours and achievement of rotation outcomes
• Submit midpoint and final evaluations within prescribed timelines
• Ensure teaching aligns with approved learning outcomes and CAA/NQF requirements
• Uphold patient safety, confidentiality and professional standards

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution; a Master's degree (M.Pharm / M.Sc. in Clinical Pharmacy) or PharmD is highly preferred
• Active professional pharmacy license issued by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on clinical pharmacy experience in a tertiary care hospital, clinical setting or specialized ambulatory clinic
• Proven experience precepting, mentoring or training pharmacy students or residents in an academic or hospital environment
• Experience coordinating clinical rotations, evaluating student performance and liaising between academic departments and clinical sites
