Clinical Social Worker

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team at Speciality Hospital Al Ain. The role involves delivering comprehensive psychosocial support to patients and families across a range of clinical settings, ensuring safe and person‑centred care in line with UAE health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial, cognitive and mental‑health assessments, identifying risks, coping mechanisms and safeguarding concerns.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based care plans addressing emotional, social and environmental needs.
• Provide counselling, crisis intervention, trauma‑informed care, psycho‑education and therapeutic interventions, and make appropriate referrals.
• Assess and respond to suicide risk, abuse, neglect and other safeguarding issues, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses and case managers to deliver holistic patient care.
• Advocate for patients’ rights, dignity and access to services throughout admission, treatment and discharge.
• Support families and caregivers in assessment, treatment planning and follow‑up to promote independence.
• Coordinate community, governmental and social services to overcome barriers to care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with DOH and UAE regulations.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Social Work (e.g., BSW, MSW) and registration with the appropriate UAE authority.
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably with vulnerable populations.
• Strong understanding of UAE health laws, ethical standards and professional guidelines.
• Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
