Cluster Chief Engineer

About the role

The Cluster Chief Engineer leads engineering and maintenance operations across two hotel properties, ensuring facilities, equipment, and building systems meet the highest safety, efficiency, and brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering operations and teams across both hotels.
• Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of all MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire and life safety systems, and hotel equipment.
• Conduct regular property inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and asset replacement programs.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, health and safety, and company standards.
• Manage engineering budgets, expenses, CAPEX projects, contracts, and annual maintenance agreements.
• Lead energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to optimize electricity, water, and utility consumption.
• Oversee renovations, refurbishments, technical projects, contractors, and suppliers.
• Handle technical emergencies and equipment breakdowns with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop the engineering team while promoting a strong safety and performance culture.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of engineering experience, preferably within luxury or upscale hospitality.
• 3–5 years in a senior engineering leadership role such as Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MEP, HVAC, BMS, fire and life safety systems, preventive maintenance, and building operations.
• Good knowledge of UAE/Dubai regulatory and safety requirements.
• Experience in budgeting, CAPEX, project management, energy management, and contractor management.
• Excellent command of English.
