CNC Field Service Engineer

About the role

A leading manufacturing company based in Dubai, UAE, is recruiting a CNC Field Service Engineer through its recruiter. The engineer installs, commissions and maintains CNC machines at customer sites and provides hands-on technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission new CNC machines at customer sites, including assembly, alignment, leveling, calibration, wiring and final testing.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and provide reactive breakdown support to minimise machine downtime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and CNC control system issues.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and PLC ladder diagrams to carry out repairs.
• Train customer personnel on the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of CNC equipment.
• Prepare detailed service reports covering hours worked, installations, repairs, parts used and technical recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machine installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with CNC milling machines is mandatory.
• Experience with machine tool manufacturers, CNC distributors or authorised service providers is preferred.
• Customer-facing field service experience; willingness and ability to travel across the UAE and GCC countries.
• Valid UAE driving licence (preferred or mandatory, depending on company policy).
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• FANUC CNC systems and software maintenance functions.
• Siemens SINUMERIK controllers (828D, 840D and SINUMERIK ONE) and their software maintenance functions.
• CNC parameter backup, restoration and recovery procedures.
• PLC diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Servo and spindle drive diagnostics.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is an advantage.
