CNC Machine Operator - Stator & Rotor Manufacturing

About the role

NOV is hiring a CNC Machine Operator in Abu Dhabi to manufacture Power Sections (stators and rotors) for oilfield directional drilling. The operator follows procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and carries out quality checks at each stage before moving the job to the next process.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture stators and rotors for oilfield directional drilling, following procedures and SOPs
• Review manufacturing procedures and stay aware of the critical process parameters
• Verify quality control checks at each step before passing the job to the next process
• Support the organization's continual improvement and problem-solving initiatives
• Follow operating procedures and job hazard analyses; operate overhead cranes for moving parts
• Report abnormalities in the manufacturing process and ensure tools, gauges and equipment are maintained
• Maintain checklists, paper routes or ERP records and assist in machine repairs
• Handle products, tubes and cores at elevated temperatures safely, follow 5S housekeeping and comply with NOV HSE procedures and logs
• Suggest improvements, risks and safety concerns, and encourage safe working practices
• Perform daily machine operator checklists, measure and record process parameters, and check stators and rotors before starting work
• Operate boilers, generators, air compressors and forklifts (license/certification required) and assist maintenance technicians during breakdowns
• Train new hires under the certification program and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic math knowledge
• Ability to communicate in English, written and spoken
• Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and basic electrical systems, with mechanical aptitude
• Experience using power tools safely in manufacturing industries
• Quality assurance ability and understanding of basic engineering drawings
