Collection Specialist (UAE National)

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY L.L.C is looking for a Collection Specialist in Dubai, responsible for managing and collecting outstanding receivables from government customers. The role helps optimise cash flow, minimise financial risk and support the organisation's financial health, working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve payment issues and comply with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Engage proactively with customers about overdue payments by phone, email and written correspondence.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement agreements in line with company policy and legal requirements.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, billing issues and customer disputes.
• Maintain accurate records of collection activity, communications and payment commitments in the company systems.
• Monitor customer accounts for credit risk and recommend actions to reduce exposure.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Finance teams to improve collection performance and processes.
• Prepare regular reports on collection activity, aging accounts, recovery performance and outstanding balances.
• Ensure compliance with collection laws, regulations and internal policies, and escalate complex cases and high-risk accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit control or a related finance function.
• Good understanding of collection principles, AR processes and relevant UAE regulations.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines; strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
