Commis 1 – Employee Dining Restaurant

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal is seeking a Commis 1 to join its Employee Dining Restaurant team. This full‑time position involves preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and supporting the kitchen operations in a high‑standard hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.
• Pull items from freezer storage, thaw them safely, and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
• Maintain food logs, monitor quantity and quality of prepared dishes.
• Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food usage to chefs and service staff.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.
• Uphold professional uniform standards and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum of 3 years related food‑service experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 25 lb.
