About the role

The Commis 1 will support the culinary team at Le Méridien Fujairah by preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with the hotel’s standards. This full‑time, on‑site position involves both hot and cold food preparation, ensuring quality, safety, and presentation throughout service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration, maintain food logs, and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
• Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, out‑of‑stock items, and excess food for daily specials.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching of kitchen staff as needed.
• Follow all safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance issues and incidents.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school education.
• At least 3 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
