About the role

The Commis 1 – Kitchen and More supports the culinary team at St. Regis Dubai by preparing ingredients, cooking and assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates with basic kitchen experience who are eager to develop their culinary skills in a luxury hotel setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, including chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Prepare cold dishes and ensure proper food storage and temperature control.
• Maintain cleanliness by washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and test cooked items for doneness.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Portioning, chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients.
• Food safety, sanitation and temperature monitoring procedures.
