Commis 2 – Banquet Kitchen (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Commis 2 supports the banquet kitchen operations at St. Regis Abu Dhabi, preparing food items for large‑scale events and ensuring seamless service. This full‑time position works closely with the chef de partie and sous‑chef to maintain the high standards expected of a luxury hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily production sheets with the chef de partie or sous‑chef and prepare required food items according to standards.
• Delegate tasks, monitor station workflow, and ensure timely service without interruptions.
• Train junior talent and apprentices in culinary techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation, including fridges, freezers, countertops and stovetops.
• Control food waste, oversee proper rotation, labeling and storage to minimise costs.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and report any deficiencies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with hotel and government food‑safety guidelines.
• Complete station opening and closing procedures, log information in the kitchen log book, and conduct line checks.

Required profile

• Demonstrates initiative, a strong desire to improve skills and knowledge.
• At least 2 years of related experience in a luxury hotel banquet environment.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and solve minor obstacles.

Required skills

• Food preparation according to standardized recipes.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, slicers, etc.).
• Adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
