Commis 3 – Kitchen Assistant (Mijana)

About the role

The Commis 3 (Mijana) supports the kitchen team at The Ritz‑Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This entry‑level position is essential for delivering high‑quality meals in line with the hotel’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients for cooking and cold dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper doneness.
• Monitor food quality, follow recipes, presentation standards and food‑preparation checklists.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check and ensure correct temperatures of appliances and food, and report any safety or maintenance issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of kitchen or food‑preparation experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Willingness to follow company safety, security and confidentiality policies.
