Commis I – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis I to join our kitchen team at Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi. The role involves supporting chefs in daily food preparation while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily operations.
• Work according to menu specifications set by the Chef de Partie.
• Maintain a hygienic work area in line with hotel standards.
• Control food stock and monitor food cost within the assigned section.
• Prepare daily mise‑en‑place and produce food across main kitchen and satellite stations.
• Follow instructions from superiors to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure consistent quality and stay updated with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
• Coordinate with other sections to manage cleanliness, waste, and cost control.

Required profile

• Completed professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef training course.
• Previous experience in quality establishments with solid culinary skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Positive, dynamic, creative, and dedicated team player.
• Comfortable working in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
• Strong sense of responsibility, adaptability, teamwork, and customer focus.
