Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Join the dynamic culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai as a Commis II. You will support kitchen operations and help deliver exceptional dining experiences for hotel guests in a fast‑paced, stylish environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, cooking, plating and presentation according to established standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, complying with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Support senior chefs at various stations and learn different culinary techniques.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Help with inventory management, stock rotation and proper storage of equipment.
• Contribute ideas during menu development and assist in creating new dishes.
• Adapt to multiple tasks simultaneously in a high‑pressure environment.

Required profile

• Passion for food and a creative approach to culinary arts.
• Basic culinary knowledge and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic English proficiency, both spoken and written.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); culinary school certificate or relevant experience (preferred).
