Commis – Kitchen Team Member

About the role

The Commis will join the kitchen team at La Petite Treehouse, the in‑house café of OliOli® Children’s Museum, supporting the delivery of high‑quality food in a child‑friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to menu and recipes, ensuring taste, presentation and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, receive deliveries, control stock and minimise waste.
• Collaborate with servers to ensure timely and accurate food service and address customer dietary requirements.

Required profile

• Availability to work six days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
• Previous experience as a commis or similar role in a culinary environment.
• Strong culinary skills with attention to detail and presentation.
• Positive, high‑energy attitude and ability to engage with children and families.
• Willingness to learn new systems and undertake training such as first aid or food hygiene.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques including washing, chopping, cutting and plating.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Basic inventory and stock control procedures.
