Commissioning Engineer - Cooling Specialist

About the role

IOTA Group is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer specialized in cooling systems to join the team at its Khazna Site in Ajman, UAE. The role focuses on pre‑commissioning, start‑up, testing and operational support of Cooling Distribution Units (CDU) for a major energy‑management project.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑commissioning inspections of primary and secondary piping, hydraulic components and electrical connections.
• Verify installation integrity, wiring, termination, mounting and system flushing.
• Conduct commissioning and start‑up checks on cooling circuits, including voltage, phase sequence, grounding and protection devices.
• Test and calibrate sensors, control devices and ensure readiness of the Building Management System (BMS) integration.
• Support filling, flushing, air purging and hydraulic balancing of secondary loops.
• Test pumps and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for correct rotation, control response and performance.
• Execute functional testing of control sequences, alarms, safeties and interlocks.
• Perform communication testing via BACnet/Modbus and verify integration with the BMS.
• Assist in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and monitor CDU operation through the Human Machine Interface (HMI).
• Record operating parameters, extract event logs and contribute to commissioning reports.
• Provide onsite standby support and troubleshoot abnormal conditions.

Required profile

• Strong practical knowledge and hands‑on experience with cooling systems.
• Proven background in commissioning, start‑up or testing of cooling equipment and related hydraulic, electrical and control systems.
• Good understanding of hydraulic circuits, pumps, VFDs, instrumentation and control logic.
