Commissioning Engineer (MV/LV Switchgear & Protection)

About the role

Siemens is looking for a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical power system equipment for major oil & gas and utility projects in Abu Dhabi. You will work within the Smart Infrastructure Customer Service Team, ensuring that switchgear, transformers, protection relays and control panels are delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute installation, testing and commissioning of MV/LV switchgears, power & distribution transformers, current and voltage transformers, and protection relays.
• Perform fault troubleshooting and analysis on switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
• Prepare and review method statements, NCRs, incident and RCA reports.
• Support the Engineering Manager and Project Manager with site planning and execution.
• Train operating personnel on commissioned equipment and ensure compliance with HSE principles.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning for substation or power plant projects.
• Proven ability to work on oil & gas or utility projects in a multicultural environment.
• Strong understanding of HSE guidelines and commitment to safety on site.
