Competent Person - Electrical Engineer, Transmission Line

About the role

Hudson Manpower is looking for an experienced Competent Person (CP) with strong experience in transmission line projects in the UAE. The role ensures that transmission line activities are executed safely and in compliance with approved engineering, HSE, quality and client requirements. The position is full-time and fixed-term.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Competent Person for transmission line construction and site activities, supervising and monitoring erection, testing and related work.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, method statements, specifications and project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards and risks, and stop or suspend unsafe work until corrected.
• Verify compliance with UAE regulations, client standards, HSE requirements and project procedures.
• Review work permits, risk assessments, method statements and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE and client teams on technical and site issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing and conductor installation, and ensure safety controls around energized systems and existing utilities.
• Verify that personnel, tools, equipment and work methods are suitable and compliant.
• Conduct toolbox talks, report incidents and non-conformities, maintain inspection records and documentation, and liaise with the client/consultant.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in transmission line projects.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA approval as Competent Person (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and site activities.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements, work permits, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• UAE/GCC project experience preferred; good communication and coordination skills.
