Compliance Officer – AML/KYC

About the role

The Compliance Officer will support the Compliance Manager and Assistant Compliance Manager in daily operations of the ECF unit, ensuring adherence to the bank’s AML/KYC policies, procedures and UAE Central Bank regulations. The role bridges business objectives with regulatory requirements, providing workable solutions while protecting the bank from regulatory and reputational risk.

Key responsibilities

• Assist business units in achieving goals while addressing compliance issues, preventing exposure to regulatory, reputational or other risks.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Central Bank of UAE regulations and interpret them for relevant units.
• Support implementation of compliance initiatives and monitor adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence on high‑risk customers and review high‑risk relationship proposals for senior management approval.
• Provide compliance feedback on eName checker referrals and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks within SLA/TAT.
• Participate in AML/KYC training programs and assist in preparing compliance reports and MIS.
• Contribute to the development of product, system policies and procedures related to compliance and AML at bank‑wide level.
• Represent compliance in ad‑hoc projects and maintain relationships with regulators and business units.

Required profile

• Graduate with 3‑4 years of banking experience, preferably in compliance, AML or KYC.
• Basic knowledge of local regulatory rules, international requirements and banking law.
• Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment on regulatory implementation.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and good presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professional relationships with branch and departmental managers.
• Proficient computer skills and logical problem‑solving approach.
