Compliance Officer – Legal Business Acceptance (Dubai)

About the role

Join a prestigious international law firm as a Compliance Officer based in Dubai. You will be a key member of the global business acceptance team, supporting the firm’s expanding Middle East operations and ensuring regulatory compliance across client onboarding and matter openings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming requests for new client and matter openings, ensuring smooth onboarding.
• Analyse conflict search results using specialist software and facilitate resolution of regulatory or commercial issues.
• Research new clients for due‑diligence and advise legal teams on required compliance documentation.
• Implement and maintain information barriers to protect sensitive client data.
• Conduct sanctions screening in line with global and local requirements.
• Collaborate with IT and accounts functions to ensure system accuracy and efficient workflows.
• Assist with testing and rollout of software upgrades for the business acceptance function.
• Provide dedicated support to the firm’s Saudi office, aligning with local working patterns.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business acceptance or compliance, preferably within a legal environment.
• Strong understanding of anti‑money‑laundering and conflict‑of‑interest regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent research skills and the ability to lead discussions with partners and senior stakeholders.
• Team‑first attitude with a pragmatic approach to problem‑solving.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
