Compliance Officer – UAE Crypto Exchange

About the role

CoinClan, a licensed cryptocurrency exchange, is expanding its operations in the United Arab Emirates and seeks a Compliance Officer to lead all regulatory and compliance activities for its UAE business.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary compliance lead for UAE operations, ensuring adherence to local regulations (VARA, ADGM, FSRA, CBUAE, SCA) and international AML/CFT standards.
• Monitor regulatory updates, interpret their impact, and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
• Oversee operational compliance of P2P trading, capital flows and conduct risk assessments, reporting findings to senior management.
• Design, implement and maintain robust KYC/KYB, CDD and EDD processes for customer onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
• Review and approve all marketing, sponsorship and branding materials for compliance with UAE law.
• Liaise with UAE regulators and external counsel, managing relationships and responding to inquiries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, AML/CFT or regulatory roles within the financial or crypto sector.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret evolving UAE financial and crypto regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to build relationships with regulators and external advisors.
