Composite Assembly Technician for UAV Structures

About the role

The Composite Assembly Technician is responsible for building and integrating carbon‑fiber UAV structures, ensuring every component meets strict aerospace quality standards and engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble carbon‑fiber fuselage sections, wings, tail structures, control surfaces, fairings and access panels.
• Perform precision fitting, drilling, reaming, countersinking, trimming and fastening of composite parts.
• Prepare surfaces and execute structural adhesive bonding according to approved processes.
• Install inserts, bushings, brackets, fasteners, nut plates and other aerospace hardware using jigs, fixtures and precision tools.
• Verify alignment, dimensions, gaps, clearances and assembly tolerances; conduct basic dimensional and visual inspections.
• Document production steps, maintain traceability and report any defects or non‑conformities.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Certificate in Aerospace, Mechanical, Composite Manufacturing or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with composite or aerospace structural assembly, preferably carbon‑fiber (CFRP).
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, quality‑focused and safety‑conscious.

Required skills

• Carbon‑fiber composite assembly and bonding.
• Composite drilling, fastening and torque‑controlled assembly.
• Use of assembly jigs, fixtures, templates and precision hand/power tools.
• Dimensional inspection with gauges and measuring tools.
• FOD prevention, HSE compliance and 5S workplace organization.
