Construction Engineer – Instrument

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer specialized in instrumentation to lead installation and commissioning activities on oil and gas projects in the UAE. The role requires hands‑on supervision of I&C systems to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee site execution of instrumentation construction, testing and commissioning activities.
• Review technical drawings, layouts and vendor documents to verify compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors to maintain smooth operations.
• Monitor progress, resolve technical issues and enforce safety and quality standards.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for project management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant oil & gas experience, including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar role on international major oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards and best practices.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with field instruments.
• Proficiency in Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Understanding of control system architecture.
