Construction Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Engineer to support an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing mechanical works from fabrication through to pre‑commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support on‑shore fabrication, module assembly, pre‑commissioning and construction activities for offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Review and support construction execution plans, work packs, method statements and procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical construction activities during fabrication, assembly, testing and pre‑commissioning phases.
• Monitor progress, identify schedule risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Review mechanical design deliverables for constructability and installation feasibility.
• Provide technical support for static and rotating equipment installation, alignment, piping fabrication and erection, structural interfaces, pressure testing and mechanical completion.
• Enforce HSE policies, ensure compliance with quality management systems and support mechanical completion and system handover.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, commissioning teams and client representatives; participate in progress meetings and prepare technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in offshore projects.
• Proven experience on offshore platforms, topsides or subsea‑related projects.
• Experience supporting fabrication yards and module construction.
• Background in PMC/EPC environments; ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
