Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead on‑site construction activities for NMDC Dredging and Marine. The role combines supervision of self‑performed and contracted work, safety culture development, and coordination of resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed a strong safety culture, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
• Manage on‑site supervision, coordination and execution of self‑performed and contracted construction work.
• Ensure field activities conform to project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, quality requirements and safety standards.
• Control project schedule and cost through efficient use of construction resources and contractors.
• Oversee development of project schedules in cooperation with construction engineers and contractors, maintaining short‑range planning down to the foreman level.
• Review design scope for constructability, recommend changes, and manage scope creep with proper documentation and approvals.
• Determine and monitor manpower levels and craft mixes to meet schedule milestones and maximize labor productivity.
• Manage contractual commitments of contractors, including cost, quality, schedule, and field activities.
• Plan and manage temporary facilities, equipment use, maintenance programs, and tool/supply control.
• Maintain client relations on site and support industrial relations administration.

Required profile

• Proven ability to administer, train, and motivate construction personnel while ensuring compliance with safety policies.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and the capacity to enforce safe work practices among all site workers.
• Experience in managing client relations and coordinating with contractors to meet project objectives.
• Flexibility to take on tasks beyond the defined scope in response to operational requirements.
