Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE is hiring a Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician on a full-time basis. The consultant provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of emergency patients, manages life-threatening emergencies and leads resuscitation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with emergency medical conditions
• Manage life-threatening emergencies, trauma, cardiac and respiratory emergencies, and critically ill patients
• Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, intubation, resuscitation and vascular access within clinical privileges
• Lead and coordinate ACLS and emergency resuscitation
• Triage patients by clinical urgency and stabilize critically ill patients, coordinating admissions or transfers to ICU and specialist departments
• Interpret emergency investigations including ECG, lab tests, X-rays, CT scans and bedside ultrasound
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, cardiologists and anesthesiologists
• Supervise and mentor emergency physicians, junior doctors and clinical staff
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, infection control and patient safety; take part in clinical audits, quality improvement and continuing medical education

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification; American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred
• Eligibility for DOH Consultant Emergency Medicine classification/license in Abu Dhabi, subject to UAE PQR requirements

Required skills

• Strong expertise in trauma care, emergency resuscitation, airway management and critical patient stabilization
• Valid ACLS certification and relevant emergency care certifications preferred
